Newton South High School is pleased to bring the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education’s “Go Higher!” program on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 7-8:30pm in the Newton South Auditorium. This event is open to all students in Newton and the surrounding area. This free event brings five to six students from the campuses of the University of Massachusetts, state universities and local community colleges into high schools across the Commonwealth for a unique student-to-student exchange. You and your student will hear directly from college students about how to get ready to succeed in college and get a preview of life on campus. Students will learn how to choose a major, pick a roommate, score an internship and prepare for the career of their choice. Following a one-hour auditorium program, students will be able to attend a public college and university admissions fair in the Auditorium lobby. Admissions officers will attend this event.
Besides students, the Commissioner of the MA Dept of Higher Ed Carlos Santiago will speak as well.
