Student Council has spent October setting up for a productive year! Eric Bardon and Akihito Moriguchi were elected co-chairs of Student Council, Carinn Bueno was elected written communications director, Amelia La Proto was elected social media director, and Diego Liteplo was elected attendance director! We have also sorted into seven committees dealing with: 18 year old responsibility for their own attendance, the add/drop course deadline, our school’s new cellphone policy, new options for community service detention, improving outreach, the morality of pop quizzes, and how we can change BHS’s sports credit policy! In addition, we’ve begun organizing this year’s late club funding application process. This is a great opportunity for new clubs and for clubs that unfortunately didn’t receive funding last year to apply again! It’s a competitive process since we have less funding reserved for the second wave of applicants but we strongly encourage all interested clubs to apply! We have started lots of fun new projects this month, so look forward to next month’s updates! Remember, our job is to advocate for you, so reach out if you have any questions, ideas, or concerns!
