This October, the Student Council held leadership elections to determine its chair, communications directors, and attendance director, and we began committee work to propose solutions to various concerns the students have raised. One of these committees is the Equitable Grading Committee, which has restarted its work around passing the Equitable Grading Bill, which was drafted last year and is being debated after student and faculty feedback. The bill would standardize the content of midyear and final exams and late work and extension policies across classes of the same level within the same subject, and it would standardize the basis of final grades (whether each quarter counts for 25% or whether the final grade is cumulative) in said classes in the same level. The bill will soon be considered by Legislature and will await a vote in the coming weeks. If you have any questions or concerns you think the Student Council could help you with, feel free to email [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected].
