BHS College Fair is coming up on Wednesday, March 13th, starting at 6:30 pm. We have multiple colleges signed up; students and parents/guardians are invited to talk to the admissions officers. The fair will take place in the STEM wing and BHS cafeteria. Important: plan to attend 5 to 10 different booths (see more advice on how to navigate the fair below).
Here is the google document with all the colleges attending Here is the document with our tips for how to navigate the fair, and what questions to ask. Please email Mr. Libenzon if you have any questions about the fair! Lots of new information and updates this week. Please check it out!
FAFSA
As you might be aware, the new FAFSA is experiencing significant delays. They now have a dedicated page to help students and parents: https://studentaid.gov/announcements-events/fafsa-support/pro-tips The latest news I got is that FAFSA applications will be sent to colleges around March 1st, and then processed by schools in about two additional weeks. Many colleges have moved their enrollment deadlines because of this; please check with individual schools for information. Note that CSS Profile, required by most private schools and BHS Scholarships, is working as usual. BHS Scholarships The Brookline High School Scholarship Committee announces that applications are now available for BHS scholarships for students going to ANY college (including two half-tuition renewable Northeastern University scholarships). Applications are available online on the BHS homepage. Thanks for your paitence after missing the Update last week. Here's this week's info - https://www.smore.com/9t1fe

BHS Scholarships
The Brookline High School Scholarship Committee announces that applications are now available for scholarships to Boston University (2 full-tuition renewable scholarships) and Northeastern University (2 half-tuition renewable scholarships). Applications are available online on the right hand side of the BHS homepage under BHS Scholarship Application and at this link and must be completed ASAP. To make fair decisions, the Committee requires that families fill out the CSS Profile financial aid form, available at CollegeBoard.com. Please use code #0424 to submit the Profile to the Brookline Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Committee would like parents to know that we use three criteria for choosing award recipients: academics, contributions and activities at BHS, and most importantly, unmet financial need. There are no merit scholarships per se given out through this program. The deadline for applying for BHS scholarships for students attending ANY OTHER college is April 1. Please use the same application as above.Let Ms. Whelan know if you have questions - her email is kathleen_whelan@psbma.org |
